We were recommended to try the restaurant by Luigi at the B&B Hotel, The service was fabulous and the food was better!!! All local produce and seafood!!!

It may look like your average neighborhood restaurant but L' Isola is anything but! Average when it comes to Italian food, specifically Sardinian.
I looked on Yelp for recommendations after arriving in Rome were to eat near our hotel. There was two choices near the hotel, one to the right and one to the left. We walked to the closest one but was rudely turned away (trattoria Osti Matti) so we went to L'Isola and was immediately greeted by Joseph. Wow!!! What an awesome and incredible experience.The restaurant was nice and elegant but the food was the star of the show. We had the tuna carpaccio, riso and the gnocchi. The best I've ever had!! If your ever in Rome and near its location it's a must. Joseph will welcome you with open arms and you won't be disappointed. Un milione di grazie Joseph!! -

I don't have the vocabulary to describe how delicious the food was with the right amount of flavor. I usually don't care for mussels back home in the States, but the mussels here are certainly the exception. Tender, not tough. Again, I can't describe the flavor other than I know that I'd order them again.
The service was excellent and just the right amount of attentiveness. Definitely a place I would come back to if I were to go back to Rome.

We had a great experience at L'Isloa! The food was outstanding and our waiter Josef was very accommodating. He made great recommendations. You could tell he really cared about the food he was serving and Sardegna. It was our last meal in Rome and I'm glad we chose this restaurant. I reccomend the spaghetti with clams! I was craving it since we got to Italy and found the right place to eat it.

Lovely restaurant with a great owner who was incredibly kind! The restaurant just opened recently but was packed to the brim for dinner...this is definitely a good sign. Walking distance from the metro and the Holiday Inn Express San Giovanni. Food is very reasonably priced! Definitely a great deal for quality and price.
